I'm Aleksey Salaz, based in Columbia, Missouri. I graduated in finance from the University of Missouri, and I work as an insurance advisor helping families and businesses find coverage that fits.
I like building things and I like numbers, which is most of my story. In school I was elected Portfolio Manager of a $3M segment of the university endowment, leading a team of analysts and setting the strategy. On my own time I taught myself to build — everything from an SEO agency that grew a client's traffic 900 percent, to AI-powered trading and lead-scoring systems I run live. I've started multiple companies, including a storage business I built in college and an apparel brand I help operate today.

Work Experience
- Built a full-stack AI lead scoring and routing platform end to end (client and admin portals, persona-based routing, inbound lead notifications) using an AI-native build stack: Lovable, Claude Code, and Python — first working version in hours, not weeks.
- Engineered a logistic regression model in Python and Orange to score inbound leads by conversion likelihood; structured synthetic training data, validated coefficients, and deployed the scoring logic into a live CRM.
- Authored PRDs and scoring rubrics so the system could be maintained without me; presented directly to non-technical stakeholders, translating modeling decisions into plain-language tradeoffs.
- Elected Portfolio Manager of a student-managed segment of the University of Missouri endowment; led 12 analysts, set sector and factor allocation strategy, and grew the portfolio from $3.0M to $3.1M (3.28% semester return, ~$100K gain).
- Set factor tilts (value, profitability, beta) and sector allocations within a risk-managed framework.
- Built DCF models and calculated financial ratios using Excel, Capital IQ, Bloomberg Terminal, and WRDS.
- Reached out to 1,600+ local service businesses and booked 50 meetings in two months.
- Optimized the outbound process through script improvements and no-show reduction strategies.
- Contributed to offer formulation and ad strategy that was later implemented by the founder.
